We Now Have Comments

I’m excited to announce that I added comment functionality across the site on jieggii.cc using Remark42. A warm thank you to Umputun, the maintainer of Remark42, and its contributors — the tool is perfect for the task. It was straightforward to set up thanks to the clear documentation. I plan to add more social login options over time. At the moment of publication, only Telegram login is supported. Feel free to leave your test comments below!

Lunar Observations — May 25, 2026

I finally got to try my new phone-telescope adapter. It turned out to be one of the best affordable upgrades I’ve made. Since I was outside before dark, the only visible target was the Moon. Hardware The same affordable setup as in previous sessions plus the adapter. Newtonian reflector telescope (130/900) 25mm and 10mm eyepieces (default ones, came with the telescope) 25% Moon filter – reduces incoming light to 25% to prevent glare Built-in iPhone 15 camera Smartphone adapter Software Halide App (camera app) – I used this third-party camera app; however (possibly due to limited photography experience) I found no difference in quality between photos taken with this app and the default camera app. Default Photos app – used it to slightly adjust colors to improve contrast and to crop. Additional Resources Interestingly, Google has Google Maps for Moon and other space objects. More details can be found on Google Maps Help. ...

Clean Up Your Inbox — Follow Newsletters via RSS

I’ve recently been adopting RSS feeds into my everyday life. If anything or anyone I’m interested in has an RSS feed, I find and subscribe to it. However, there are a couple of email newsletters I follow, and unfortunately they don’t have any alternative way to subscribe to them – only occasional messages appearing in my inbox. For me email inbox has mostly been associated with: messaging with someone having some temporary receipts or tickets there having letters regarding account updates on some online platform The email client doesn’t feel for me to be the right place for the content I want to read. The content I want to read belongs to book apps, RSS reader apps, browser, Telegram, X or some other app, but definitely not the email app. ...

My First Year at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences as an ICT Student

Well, that was quite a year! This year was much more than I expected. It was much tougher than I expected; however, it brought much more knowledge, joy, and skills. People The amazing people I had the great luck to spend this academic year with: teachers, classmates, students from the parallel classes, others on campus, and even people from other universities and fields I met at various events. The level of support, understanding, and this feeling of all of us being in the same boat… That is unforgettable. ...

We are Developing TourDeck — Sharp Tool for Tour Operators

For the past year, I’ve been building the tool we wished existed for our tour business. Running a tour operator business is chaotic, especially in the beginning. Bookings come from multiple sources: online platforms (Viator, GetYourGuide, etc.), direct website sales, manual requests, and partners. It quickly becomes a real operational headache: you need to aggregate bookings, plan pickups, notify customers, and coordinate drivers. Existing tools like Bókun and Rezdy solve many problems — and that’s exactly the issue for small tour operators. Those systems try to be everything for everyone: overcomplicated interfaces, features that aren’t useful, expensive monthly plans, and often an extra 1–3% fee on every booking. ...
